Evidence you can inspect

How to read our research.

Useful social research makes its scope, sources and uncertainty visible. Here is how to interpret Superlurk results and the guides written by our product team.

Public observations, with a defined scope

Superlurk helps creators and marketers investigate public posts, creators and conversations. A result is a retrieved sample for a question and selected platforms. It is not a census of the social web, a representative audience survey or access to someone else's private analytics.

Start with a decision: a content question to answer, a creator to evaluate or a competitor to investigate. Record the topic, platforms, region, dates and retrieval time wherever those details are available. When a field is missing, keep it unknown.

Coverage differs by platform and tool

Our general research interface lists 24 platforms. Native social-data integrations are configured for TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, X, Reddit, LinkedIn, Threads, Lemon8. Other platforms use domain-focused web search with more limited post and metric availability. Configuration does not guarantee that every query returns usable results.

Focused tools have their own scope. A YouTube transcript tool analyzes a YouTube video; an Instagram Stories tool inspects available Instagram media. Their coverage does not expand to every platform just because the wider research interface supports them. The creator intelligence beta has a narrower supported scope.

Check the original evidence

Use citations to open source posts and inspect the caption, media, conversation and publication date. AI summaries can omit context or make mistakes. Separate a source's own claim from an inference drawn across multiple sources, and verify material conclusions before acting.

Public likes, views, shares and comments are observations at capture time. They change, may be unavailable and are not interchangeable between platforms or formats. A missing value is not zero. Public counters do not reveal watch time, conversion, reach or an audience's demographic makeup.

Make comparisons reproducible

Compare the same platform, format and observation window. Note post age and account size; separate sponsored content when identifiable. A sampled share of voice needs a stated denominator. A suspected content gap needs checks against additional queries. Popular examples can help form a hypothesis, but cannot establish what caused their performance.

Media and unavailable sources

Thumbnails and avatars help identify retrieved evidence. A preview can expire even when a source link still works. Revisit the source to check its current state; removed posts, inaccessible comments and incomplete transcripts limit the conclusions you can draw.

Who writes the guides

The Superlurk team writes the editorial library. We are the product vendor, so descriptions of Superlurk are not independent reviews. Named platform facts in revised guides link to official documentation. Our suggested worksheets and workflows are recommendations, not measured performance guarantees.

Worked examples are explicitly labeled illustrative when they are invented to explain a method. They are not customer results or original studies. Publication and modification dates describe the article's history; modification dates change when substantive content changes. Older guides remain subject to further editorial review.
